Tuition price is based on the total amount of class time per week in which the student is enrolled. See the following table for the breakdown of tuition according to hours.

- One hour drop-in classes are: $15.00
- One and a half hour drop-in classes are: $18.00


  • Tuition is per student. HST included.


  • Cheques should be made payable to Howe Sound Dance Academy.


  • Once per year registration fee is $25 ($15 for additional family members).


  • A $25 charge will be levied for all NSF cheques.


  • Our school year runs from September to June. Students are required to make a full year’s commitment as the program is ongoing. All programs are based on the full year – not by the individual class or by month.

    Registration should be done in person on given registration days. Classes will not be interrupted for registration inquiries. All students must be registered before taking classes.
    Tuition is to be paid quarterly in accordance to the Fee Schedule. Quarterly payments are for financial convenience only; they do not signify the beginning or end to a “session”. Quarterly payments require post dated cheques for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters. HSDA must receive all post dated cheques at the time of registration. A 10% fee will be added for those who do not supply post dated cheques. HSDA will assist with class selection if needed. In the case of an alternate payment plan, all post dated cheques must be submitted at the time of registration and dated either the 1st or 15th of each month. In the case of withdrawal, post dated cheques will be returned. Please see Withdrawals and Cancellation.
    Tuition price is based on the total amount of class time per week in which each student is enrolled.
    First quarter tuition is due September 1 2010 and must be accompanied by a post-dated cheque for November 15 2010 for the second quarter, February 1 2011 for the third quarter and April 15 2011 for the fourth quarter.
    Extra practices will be required during exam, competition and performance season. There will be an additional fee for any extra exam and/or competition classes. This fee is at the discretion of the instructor. Additional fees are to be paid in advance directly to your teacher. It is realistic to expect to pay approx $20.00 per half hour and a nominal studio rental fee of $5.00 per half hour, split across the number of students in a class.
    HSDA accepts cash and cheques.

  • For non-competitive classes there will be a costume fee of $55.00 per student per costume, for competitive classes there will be a costume fee of $60.00. These are to be paid in full by November 1 2010. This fee provides a readymade costume including accessories. Alterations (ie hemming, minor adjustment etc…) will be the responsibility of the dancer. Costumes are the property of the student.


  • Extra classes and private lessons are $20.00 per half hour, split across the number of students in a class, to be paid in advance directly to your teacher.


  • Notification of withdrawal must be submitted to HSDA in writing by one week prior to the respective quarterly fee due date. Word of mouth or non-attendance will not be considered as such notification. Should you choose to withdraw part way thru a quarter there will not be a refund for the remaining of the quarter. Withdrawal of partial classes will be treated equally. Application to cancel a class will incur a $25.00 administrative fee.
    Post dated cheques will be returned for the respective quarterly payment provided notification, as outlined above, is given; after that, tuition becomes non-refundable. Family credit may be given in the case of prolonged absence of more than two weeks due to illness if accompanied by a doctor’s note. If you have a problem with payments you MUST talk to Miss Blanchard for an alternate payment plan.
    Notification of withdrawal must be submitted to HSDA in writing; word of mouth or non-attendance will not be considered as such notification.
    Registration, costume, exam, competition, extra exam and private class fees are non-refundable.
