Tuition price is based on the total amount of class time per week in which each student is enrolled. See the following table for the breakdown of tuition according to hours. Taxes included.  HSDA accepts cash, e-transfers & cheques.

  • All accounts from the previous year must be settled (paid in full) before registering for the new season.
  • Postdated cheques are required or a 10% surcharge will be levied per quarter starting with the first quarter. Quarterly payments are for financial convenience only.  First quarter is due September 1 and must be accompanied by a post-dated cheque for November 15, February 1 and April 15.
  • A late fee of 10% will be levied on any balance not paid by 15 days from due date.
  • Prices quoted below are per quarter and per student. Students are required to make a full year’s commitment as the program is ongoing.  All programs are based on the full year – not by the individual class or by month.
  • If you are on a monthly payment plan, cheques should be dated for the 1st or 15th of each month.
  • Cheques should be made payable to Howe Sound Dance Academy LTD. E-transfers to
  • Once per year registration fee is $30 ($25 for additional family members, maximum of $75 per family).
  • Competitive fees are due October 1.
  • Non-competitive class costumes fees are $70.00 per costume due October 15
  • Competitive class costumes fees are $75.00 per costume due October 15
  • A $30 charge will be levied for all NSF or returned cheques and are due 1 month from date of cheque and must be paid in cash
  • Class cancellation fee is $30 per class.
  • Notification of withdrawal must be submitted to HSDA in writing; word of mouth or non-attendance will not be considered as such notification. Withdrawal of partial classes will be treated equally.
  • Should you choose to withdraw part way thru a quarter there will not be a refund for the remaining of the quarter.

·         Extra practices will be required during exam, competition and performance season. There will be an additional fee for any extra exam and/or competition classes.  This fee is at the discretion of the instructor.  Additional fees are to be paid in advance directly to your teacher.  It is difficult to forecast if and how many privates extra classes will be required as students’ progress at different rates, 2-5 classes is realistic.  This considered private tutoring.  The instructor providing the service enters a private service with you and can set their rate with you that they feel comfortable with.  Any monies go directly to the instructor.  The $30 per ½ hour estimation is based on the premium so that you know the highest you would have to pay.  However, it is up to the individual teacher to determine their rate (you can expect to pay $5-30 depending on how participants, length of lesson and relevant to instructor involved).  The idea is that the cost can be shared across all competitive group members, members of an exam set or as semi private or private fees.

  • Registration, costume, exam, competition, extra exam and private class fees are non-refundable.
  • .75 – 1 hour drop-in classes are $18, 1.25-1.5 drop-in classes are $22
  • This schedule is subject to change.
  • Late payments including tuition and costume fees are subject to a 10% surcharge, from 15 days of the due date.
